The Opportunity


Our client is seeking a Trainee Aboriginal Health Worker to join their company in Orange, NSW, with the potential to earn Award Wage + Superannuation.

The primary purpose of this position is to be trained as a member of the Chronic Care team and assist in the planning and implementation of community based Aboriginal healthcare.

Reporting directly to the Practice Manager some of your responsibilities include:


  • Undertaking and successfully completing the Certificate IV in Indigenous Primary Health Care with AHMRC Aboriginal Health College
  • Work under guidance with the Chronic Care Coordinator & other team members to provide a community based home visiting service
  • Developing skills to become actively involved in health promotion and community development activities
  • Maintaining complete and accurate notes and other documentation in client / patient records

 

To be successful in this role you will be an Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander and have completed secondary education to a minimum of year 10 or have equivalent life and professional experience. Additionally, holding a current First Aid certificate would be desirable for this role.

The ideal applicant will have effective communication skills and will be committed to undertaking training in health education.

A current drivers licence is essential for this position.
