The Team

Shine Lawyers’ Workplace Relations team represents employees who feel they have been unjustly terminated, harassed or bullied, or those experiencing general employment issues needing resolution. Our team thrives on making a difference to the lives of our clients.

The Role

Due to increasing demand for our services, we are seeking two self-managed Workplace Relations Solicitors to join us in Brisbane.

  • Obtain maximum financial compensation for all clients suffering a loss 
  • Draft legal documents in a concise and effective manner 
  • Be commercially responsible and fiscally aware, in relation to running files
  • Develop and maintain strong professional working relationships with clients, including effective and regular communication and managing the client's expectations and
  • Take an active role in developing members of the team

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years plus PAE
  • Knowledge of and experience in running matters under the Fair Work Act
  • Depth of experience in unfair dismissal claims, adverse actions claims and general protection claims
  • Adeptness in advocating on behalf of clients in conciliation conferences with negotiation of successful outcomes, with discretion
  • Demonstrated grounding in pursuing underpayment of wages and entitlement claims
  • Outstanding communication and exemplary relationship building skills
  • Drafting legal documentation for lodgement with the Fair Work Commission
  • Taking statements from clients and conducting interviews with the provision on initial advice
  • Strong intellectual ability and enjoyment from working on legally challenging and factually complex matters
