Taxation Accountant

KPC is seeking an experienced and talented taxation specialist to join our motivated finance team. This position represents an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional that is looking to apply and grow their current skills in a wide range of taxation and accounting functions, with both domestic and international exposure.

Reporting to the General Manager, Finance this position is responsible for the preparation and lodgement of all tax returns and related requirements for the Kilcoy group of companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and assist with delivery of all areas of the Group's taxation requirements.
  • Capture relevant financial information to efficiently prepare and lodge the Group’s tax returns and other tax requirements.
  • Prepare annual income tax returns, FBT returns, BAS returns, withholding tax returns and necessary documentation to adequately evidence all information that is reported, including intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare and manage thin capitalisation, transfer pricing and CbC reporting documentation and requirements.
  • Prepare and manage the R&D program, documentation and requirements.
  • Complete tax reconciliations and preparation of returns whilst assisting with financial forecasting and monthly reporting.
  • Ensure monthly financial statements include all financial transactions involving tax.
  • Prepare Tax Effect Accounting calculations for the annual financial statements.
  • Remain up to date with current legislation that impacts on Accounting Standards and Taxation Law.
  • Proactively identify and resolve tax related issues as they arise.
  • Seek out opportunities to improve information and reporting processes and technologies.
  • Liaise with external tax specialists and auditors where required.

The ideal candidate will bring;

  • Tertiary Qualification in Accounting and CPA/CA qualified.
  • Experience in taxation accounting within a large professional or commercial environment.
  • Strong understanding of tax concepts and accounting, including an appreciation of international tax issues.
  • Experience within an organisation that handles a high volume of financial transactions.
  • Experience of statutory reporting requirements would be an advantage.
  • Self-motivated individual with ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and in written form, with all levels of the organization.
  • Team player with strong analytical and organizational skills to prioritise multiple tasks to achieve deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of work.
  • High level of financial literacy and problem solving skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel.
